History of Staffordshire Signs

1975 – Traditional Sign Writers

David Keasey started the company back in 1975 when it was known as “D K Sign Studio” and was offering a traditional sign writing service. From 1978, at the age of 14 yrs old, our current Managing Director Richard Keasey would return from school and go straight to work with his father to learn the trade.

1977 – Staffordshire Signs and Graphics

In 1977 the company Staffordshire Signs & Graphics was born, with the use of new computer plot and cutting machine technology from Spandex Plc. From then onwards, and up to the present date, the company constantly develops by investing in new technology and materials. We were one of the very first companies to develop signs & graphics as a combined service.

Richard Keasey

Richard Keasey has over 35yrs experience within the sign industry and has developed from working with all kind of materials and technologies. He is now the Managing Director of Staffordshire Signs & Graphics and has continued to develop the company. Our most recent investment is in our new large format full colour solvent printer.

2005 – New Premises

In February 2005 the company moved into its new premises in Burntwood, Staffordshire with over 4000sq ft of floor space. We have purposely developed the manufacturing, fabrication, painting and application areas. There’s an all new graphics department complete with new machinery that includes the Gerber Elan full solvent printer, able to print up to 1440 dpi (near photographic quality) at 1640mm wide onto a wide range of materials.

2015 – Expanding into additional premises

After ten years in our current premises we are now expanding into an additional premises giving us an area of over 3500sq ft floor space more than we have now. This will be used for a dedicated manufacturing area of signage and storage of materials. The expansion means we can give the existing area specifically over to vehicle graphics and vehicle wraps in its own enhanced environment

2020 – New Technology

The expanding of our premises has in time come hand in hand with updated new technology and equipment, all in place to help provide the best standards of products and services to our customers.

Firstly we have expanded and updated our vehicle wrapping department, adding industrial rubber floor tiles, and a mid-lift machine. Our graphics department has been updated with two new latex printers, and a rolls roller laminator, and our workshop department has been updated with a CNC router.

All our new equipment and technology help to improve the ease and speed of the products and services we complete, while also giving us a new range of opportunities to offer.

The Future

Staffordshire Signs & Graphics will always be constantly evaluating, investing and developing so we can continue to provide a high quality product and a first class service.
